Lisa Whelchel from "Survivor: Philippines" is one of the contestants on Season 25 of the CBS reality competition series. She is 49-year-old former TV teen star who played Blair Warner on the 1980s comedy "The Facts of Life." She starts off the season as a member of the Tandang tribe.

Lisa Whelchel discovered acting at the age of eight and proceeded to perform in musical theater for the next four years. At the age of twelve, she was chosen from a nationwide talent search for new Mouseketeers and moved to California to be on "The New Mickey Mouse Club." After taping 186 episodes, she spent the next couple of years filming a variety of movies (that went straight to video), telefilms and guest appearances on television shows. She spent the majority of the 1980s as Blair Warner on "The Facts of Life." She filmed the last episode in March of '88. She got married in July of '88 and then had a child in '90, '91 and '92. At that point, she left showbiz to be a stay-at-home wife and mother.

Whelchel describes herself as quick-witted, sharp-minded and brave-hearted. She is most proud of her three delightful and interesting children and the close friendship they enjoy. She admires and respects Oprah Winfrey, because she has used her fame and fortune to help people. Whelchel's pet peeve is people who judge other people. Her hobbies include reading, scrapbooking and traveling.

If she could bring three things with her on the island, she would take a "Bible with giant print because I don't know if I would have my reading glasses"; "a journal and a pen because I have a terrible memory and I don't want to forget a minute of this experience"; and "playing cards because I love to play games." Of the former "Survivor" contestants, she says she is most like "Colby — I'm competitive, genuine and from Texas!"

She came on the show, because "I love the game and was born to play it. Plus, I want to meet Jeff Probst." She thinks she will survive and ultimately win, because "I am strong physically, intellectually and in will ... My inherent make up is to assess the big picture goal, determine the steps to reach it, gain everything there is to learn about how to accomplish the goal, jump in with both feet, connect with other people's strengths and never give up until the job is done."

She currently lives in Dallas, Texas.
