Loren Lott from "American Idol 2015," whose full name is Loren Sharice Lott, is one of the top 24 contestants in Season 14 of the FOX reality singing competition. She sang "Treasure" by Bruno Mars for her audition in Nashville, Tennessee. She is from San Diego, California.

Loren Lott is a singer, actress and model who trained vocally at Tara Simon Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. She sings opera, classical and pop and performs in musical theater. She dreams of playing Nala in the musical "The Lion King." She attended Clark Atlanta University.

Here is an interview with Loren:

When did you first start singing?

I started singing when I was younger than one year old. I have a photo of myself trying to sing along with Whitney Houston before I could talk. My grandmother would play a tape of Bible songs in the car as my twin brother and I listened and tried to sing in the back seat. Then when I was three years old, I started singing in preschool and in the children's choir at church and progressed to singing at many places as I got older.

What role does music play in your life?

When I was very young, I used to sing when I was sad. Now I sing for comfort, for my own entertainment, for others, and when I need to release to a different place for a while. Music is my enjoyment and my sanity.

What makes you unique?

I think maybe I'm unique because God has blessed me with many talents. I am excellent at drawing, painting, and acting, as well as singing. I also dance to complement these talents, and I use all of these aspects of me. I also have an outgoing and different personality that I used to be uncomfortable with because it was so big and so me. But now I am comfortable with myself and I love how and who I am. I accept myself and hope others do too.

Do you have a wish list of writers you'd like to write with? If so, who?

I haven't made a wish list yet, but I know that one of my best friends, Jordan Dodd Waddington "J-Light," would certainly be on that list.

What are your top three all-time favorite songs and why?

"Viva La Vida" by Coldplay is my favorite because when I was on a ship in Alaska, I heard that song and it made me happy because I was so happy to be on a cruise. Now whenever I hear that song, I still get happy and have such pleasant memories. I also love "Bright Lights" by Cielo Green because I love him and that song helps me envision my future of bright lights and amazing cities. A third favorite is "O Happy Day" by the Hawkins Singers because that was one of my favorite songs heard in church as I was growing up and I admired and tried to sing it like my family friend who sang it.

What is your strongest musical strength?

My strongest musical strength is my belt. I am able to hit huge notes with a lot of control.

What is your greatest musical weakness?

Honestly, I would probably say nerves because I can do all of these amazing things when I am alone, but when I get in front of an audience I don't do everything I want to do and know I am capable of doing.

Who are your top three favorite and most influential artists? What is it about your favorite artists that you are drawn to?

Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, and Ariana Grande. Michael Jackson created a new sound of music, a unique look, unique style, and everything exciting in his performances. Additionally, he was so inspirational to me and had this wonderful child-like spirit. He was always true to who he was, and I feel that we have that in common. Whitney Houston had the best tone and control of any artist I have ever heard in my life. I admire that and want it for myself. Ariana Grande did Broadway, which is my own dream. She is adorable and has a gorgeous tone to her voice. There are many who sing but only a few with an actual amazing tone that stops you in your tracks. I pray that I have that, and I am drawn to Ariana Grande because of that.

If you had to pattern your career after another artist, who would it be and why?

I think I would like to pattern after Beyoncé because she started in a group and I love the idea of being in a girl group — seems like so much fun! And then she branched out just as Michael Jackson did and became one of the biggest stars of our time after doing several movies and even appearing on a couple shows. I would love a career like that, except that I would love to include a Broadway theatrical run.

Why do you think you should be the next "American Idol"?

I have worked hard on developing my many talents, and I think that I am a star. I know that I am fun and adventurous and invite new opportunities. I am a great role model and a trained, well-rounded entertainer. I know that this career is God's plan for me and I have worked very hard on it. I am searching for God's will, not my own, and I think that with that I can have what it takes to be what America didn't even know it had been waiting for. I will inspire millions of people to be happy — to find beauty in themselves and not seek it from the world, and to be content with making God and themselves happy. I will work to save someone's life through my entertaining and my efforts.
