Born in Queens, New York, Lucia Micarelli was immersed in the arts by the age of three, diligently practicing dance, piano and violin. It didn't take long for Lucia to discover her passion and greatest talent was the violin, which became her main focus. After moving to Hawaii at the age of five, she continued to refine her skills; just a year later, at six, Lucia made her debut as a soloist with the
In 1994, Lucia's family returned to New York City after Lucia was accepted at the prestigious Julliard School of Music. She studied there for seven years, winning a dozen international competitions and performing extensively in concert halls throughout the U.S. In 2001, she began studying with renowned violinist Pinchas Zukerman. During this time she began to develop an interest in non-classical music, moonlighting with local jazz and rock bands. The following year she accepted an offer to tour with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra as featured violinist and concertmaster. In 2004, she received a call from Josh Groban inviting her to tour with him as guest soloist. Later that year she released her first album, "Music from a Farther Room" to glowing reviews. In 2007, Groban asked Lucia to join him again on his "Awake" tour.
Having recently released her latest album, "Interlude," Lucia continues to perform all over the world, and has most recently been a featured soloist on tour with Chris Botti.
