Luke Benward stars in "Good Luck Charlie" on Disney Channel in the recurring role of Beau, a charming teen with extensive knowledge of bugs, who captures Teddy's attention after Bob hires him to help with the business. Benward also stars in the Disney Channel Original Movie "Cloud 9."

Benward previously played the brainy Charlie Tuttle, who invents a time machine that allows him to travel 48 hours into the past, in the Disney Channel Original Movie "Minutemen."

Luke Benward began his acting career at the age of five, appearing alongside Mel Gibson and Madeline Stowe in "We Were Soldiers." He was also cast in the family film "Winn-Dixie" at age eight, after choosing to audition with a toothpick in his mouth. The choice set him apart from the hundreds of boys vying for the role. The director, Wayne Wang, loved the idea and even used it in the film. Shortly after, he was cast as the lead in "How to Eat Fried Worms."

In 2002 Benward shot television pilots for "Life on the Water" and "Family Affair," starring Tim Curry and Gary Cole. Other credits include starring in an award-winning Martina McBride music video and appearing in commercial campaigns for McDonalds, Nintendo, American Express and Hamburger Helper.

Part of an entertainment family, Benward loves to sing and dance and got his acting bug by tagging along to auditions with his mother, actress, acting coach and former CMT veejay Kenda Benward. His father, Aaron Benward, is half of the country music duo Blue Country.

Currently Benward resides with his parents and two sisters in Nashville. He enjoys riding his bike, playing football and video games.
