Maiara Walsh stars as Ana Solis on ABC's "Desperate Housewives." Adding to the already-certifiably hot roster of "Wisteria Lane" residents, Maiara Walsh (pronounced MY-ODDUH) moves in as the manipulative niece of Eva Longoria Parker, Ana Solis.
Previously, Maiara Walsh starred as Meena Paroom, the beautiful daughter of an ambassador from "Bahavia" who is the crush of more than one boy at her exclusive Washington D.C. prep school on "Cory in the House."

She landed her first on-screen role in Nickelodeon's "Unfabulous" in 2005, followed by the 2008 Indie coming-of-age story, "Lullaby Before I Wake." She then auditioned for Disney Channel's "Cory in the House," landing the role of Meena for a two-year run on the series. Maiara Walsh's ear for language has made it easy for her to mimic all types of accents although she devised the one she uses for her character on the show.
Up next for her is the series "Revolution," opposite Peter Fonda and Billy Campbell. In addition she plays the off-beat teen Sage in "The Prankster."
She has also had starring roles in the plays "The Crucible" (Royal Drama Department) and "King Tut's Tomb" (Sinaloa Productions).
With a genuine yearning for philanthropy and purpose, Walsh devotes much her time to volunteer work and charity efforts. A member of the Young Women's Empowerment Network and a youth ambassador for In a Perfect World, she co-hosted the GIRLPREP event of March 2009 to promote women's empowerment. Equestrian therapy is another passion, giving hospitalized children the opportunity to ride horses as a mode of physical and mental therapy.
When she's not working on set, Walsh enjoys hiking, skydiving and sports, and stays in shape through Bikram yoga and regular workouts.

to a Brazilian mother and Irish/German/Swedish father, second to older sister Lydia, all of whom have remained her grounding force through the years. The pentilingual actress (she speaks Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian and English) moved to Brazil for two years before returning to Seattle to finish grade school, in which she took the stage for the first time in the play "Mozart." When she was nine, they moved to California, where Walsh developed dreams of a life on camera. Through middle and high school, she immersed herself in acting classes and coaching, held perfect grades and had a starting position on the soccer and softball teams.
