Maria Pia Calzone stars in "Gomorrah" on SundanceTV as Imma Savastano.

Maria Pia Calzone made her lm debut in 1988 with the movie "Chiari di luna," directed by Lello Arena, before making appearances in a number of films, including "Pater Familias," directed by Francesco Patierno, "Matrimony," by Cristina Comencini, and "Ribelli per case," by Vincenzo Terracciano. Calzone has also appeared in international productions such as the American thriller "Equilibrium" (2003), directed by Kurt Wimmer, with Oscar winner Christian Bale, and the German TV movie ""Geliehenes Gluck,"" directed by Ben Verbong.

Calzone won the Premio Riccardo Cucciolla in 2006 for best lead actress at the Festival di Vasto San Salvo and the Premio Ippocampo for best actress at the Festival di Trieste Maremetraggio 2006 for her turn in Massimo Andrei's "Mater Natura." Among the many TV productions in which Calzone has acted are "Don Matteo," directed by Giulio Base, "Ad occhi chiusi" and "Salvo d'Acquisto," by Alberto Sironi, "Donne di ma a" and "Segreto di Stato," by Giuseppe Ferrara, "Il coraggio di Angela," by Luciano Manuzzi, and "Anita Garibaldi" by Claudio Bonivento.

For her role in "Gomorrah," she won Best Actress at the 2014 Rome's Fiction Fest, the 2014 Exploit Award at the Capri-Hollywood Festival, the 2014 Premio Afrodite for Best Actress, Best Actress at the 2014 Cinema and Fiction's Gala and Kinéo's Special "Revelation of the Year"Award at the 71st Venice Film Festival.

In 2014, Calzone starred with Francesco Mantanari in the theatrical show "Bestialit
