Mario Lopez is the host of the nationally syndicated entertainment news show, "Extra." He is also the host of FOX's reality singing competition "The X Factor," "MTV's Top Pop Group" and VH1's reality competition, "Randy Jackson Presents: America's Best Dance Crew," as well as the nationwide Clear Channel radio show, "On with Mario Lopez."

Best known as A.C. Slater on the beloved sitcom "Saved by the Bell," Mario Lopez danced his way into America's heart during season 3 of the hit show "Dancing With the Stars." After amazing audiences with his fancy footwork and being crowned the runner-up, Mario Lopez went on to host the weekend edition of "Extra" and became a regular fixture on the daily show.

Mario Lopez is a man who likes to stay busy, which is why he is a recurring commentator on HBO's boxing programs and he recently produced a documentary based on the sport, entitled "Champ." He is also the host and executive producer of SITV's "Dating Factory." In 2007, Mario Lopez starred in the highest-rated ABC Family original movie in history, "Holiday in Handcuffs," and starred opposite Mark Consuelos in the made-for-TV movie "Husband for Hire."

Lopez is a New York Times best-selling author for his healthy eating guide, "Extra Lean." In May 2011, he released the follow-up to "Extra Lean," entitled "Extra Lean Family." Additionally, Lopez wrote "Mario Lopez's Knockout Fitness," a best-selling fitness book that offers readers a look into his impressive workout regime, and "Mud Tacos," a children's' book he co-authored with his sister, Marissa. As a follow-up to "Mud Tacos," Lopez released "Mario & Baby Gia," a children's book he wrote for his daughter, Gia.

Born in San Diego, California, Mario Lopez began his career as the younger brother on the 1980s TV series "A.K.A. Pablo" and became well known to TV audiences through his roles on "Saved by the Bell" and "Pacific Blue." Mario Lopez brought the bachelor's point of view to the talk show "The Other Half," an all-male version of "The View," and helped bridge the gap between sports and entertainment on ESPN Hollywood. Mario Lopez portrayed Olympic diving champion Greg Louganis in the made-for-TV movie "Breaking the Surface: The Greg Louganis Story" and appeared in such films as "Colors," "Depraved," "Eastside" and "Outta Time."
