Marissa Neitling stars in "The Last Ship" on TNT as Lt. Kara Foster.

Marissa Neitling earned her B.S. in Theatre Arts and Mathematics from the University of Oregon, graduating Cum Laude. While there, she performed in theatrical productions of "Stop Kiss," "Company," "Good Morning, Athens," "Waiting for Lefty" and "The Bear." She then went on to receive her M.F.A. in Acting from Yale School of Drama, where she was seen in school productions of "Angels in America: Perestroika," "Fen," "Two Gentlemen of Verona," "Othello," "The Tall Girls," "Sunday in the Park with George," "Julius Caesar," "Cymbeline" and "Rodeo." She also performed at the Yale Repertory Theater in "Hamlet," "We Have Always Lived in the Castle" and "The Winter's Tale."

Other stage credits include "Dracula," "Trannequin! A New Musical" and "Chamber Music" with the Yale Cabaret; "A Chorus Line" and "Nunsense" with the Broadway Rose Theatre Co.; "Gracie and the Atom" with Artists Repertory Theatre Co.; and "Into the Wood," "Oliver!" and "You Can't Take It With You" with the Lakewood Theatre Co.

Neitling made her television debut in an episode of TNT's "Leverage." She enjoys playing the piano and knows how to dance Ballet, Tap and Jazz.
