Master Monkey from "Kung Fu Panda 2" is a character in the DreamWorks animated franchise voiced by Jackie Chan.

Mischievous, playful, and enthusiastic, Master Monkey ("Kung Fu Panda") likes a good joke, but his easy-going attitude masks a cunning marital arts ability. More street smart than the rest of The Furious Five, Master Monkey knows his way around the sometimes less-than-honorable world outside of the Valley of Peace.

The only thing stronger than Monkey's wicked sense of humor is the incredible skill he shows with his Kung Fu staff. Monkey is friendly toward Po after the clueless panda is declared the Dragon Warrior. But as much as he appreciates a good giggle at Po's antics, Monkey definitely means business when push comes to shove.

In his youth, Monkey was quite the trickster in his village. But he was only compensating for his own memories of being made fun of as a younger child. The people in Monkey's village eventually grew tired of his clowning around and tried to force him out of town. But all their efforts failed until the great Master Oogway arrived to help. Oogway was able to shield himself from Monkey and teach him a life-altering lesson about compassion.
