Matar Cohen from "Models of the Runway" is one of the models featured on the Lifetime reality competition series and Season 6 of its companion series, "Project Runway." She currently lives in New York, New York, but is originally from Israel. Matar from "Models of the Runway" is 5'10" tall.
When Matar Cohen was in 5th grade, she was scouted to walk the runway with several big Israeli models. Matar entered the Miss Israel contest when she was 19 years old. Since then, she has been featured in magazines such as Cosmopolitan, InStyle, Lucky, Women's Health, Family Circle and Brides. She has done runway shows such as the International Diesel Show, Oscar de la Renta, Lee Cooper and Nike. Matar from "Project Runway" was also a house model for designers such as D&G, Stella McCartney, Hugo Boss and Moschino. In addition, she has shot several television commercials for T-Mobile and Greece Tourism. She is currently a full-time model, working with Ford NY. In the past, she has worked as an assistant art director in short films and as a interior design assistant and production coordinator on a Broadway show.
Being Moroccan, Tunisian, Romanian and Polish, she says gives her an exotic and versatile look. What makes her stand out as a model, she believes are her curls, her freckles, her eyes and her versatility. She considers black tights, perfectly fitted skinny jeans, black knee-high boots and a leather jacket to be fashion musts.
She majored in visual arts at Thelma Yellin School of the Arts.
