Mateo Arias and his older brother Moises Arias (Rico on "Hannah Montana") began taking acting classes at a local acting school in Atlanta, Georgia, which brought the Arias family to Los Angeles in January 2005 to compete in an acting competition. Shortly thereafter, they both signed with a talent agency and made the move to Los Angeles.
