Mateus Ward stars in "Hostages" on CBS as Jake Sanders.

Born in Burbank, California, Mateus Ward and his family moved in 2004 to Maui, Hawaii, where he lived like a "local" — surfing, snorkeling, hiking, riding motorcycles, wrestling and kayaking. However, his real passion is art, drawing, theater, dancing and acting. He is obsessed with the 1950s and loves Elvis. He also loves special effects make-up and every aspect of filmmaking. He is now back in Los Angeles, pursuing his dream of acting in television, commercials and film.

Ward won a Young Artist Award in 2013 for his guest-starring turn in Showtime's comedy "Weeds." He was also nominated the previous year for his guest appearance in Comedy Central's "Sports Show with Norm Macdonald," for which he won an OMNI Youth Music and Actor Award for Outstanding Actor. He played the recurring role of Marcus in Disney XD's comedy "Lab Rats" and has also appeared in episodes of "NCIS," "Parenthood" and "Criminal Minds." In addition, he was cast as a series regular in the 2011 pilot for FOX's "Outnumbered," alongside Cheech Marin and Ana Ortiz.

Ward enjoys playing the piano, swimming and boxing.
