Matt Hughes from "Storm Chasers" was the navigator for the TIV team in the Discovery Channel reality series.

Matt Hughes had a life-long fascination with extreme weather. Growing up in the heart of Tornado Alley, Matt Hughes was able to witness severe storms from an early age. This passion yielded Matt nearly two decades worth of storm chasing expertise. In addition to chasing with the TIV team, he chased for a Wichita news affiliate and regularly contributed to the nationally syndicated radio show "The Storm Report." Matt used to forecast for the TIV team in the follow vehicle, Doghouse. In his last season on the show, Matt  was out of the Doghouse and in the navigation seat of the TIV, hoping to guide Sean to a perfect tornado intercept.

Matt passed away on May 26, 2010, in Wichita, Kansas due to an injury unrelated to his chasing activities.
