On television, he has guest starred in TNT's "Public Morals," CBS's "Elementary" and "Person of Interest," USA Network's "Royal Pains," Comedy Central's "Onion SportsDome" and The CW's "Gossip Girl." He also starred in the independent film "Thursday."

Born and raised in Manhattan, McGorry's first experiences with theater began at eight years old in an afterschool program. He developed a great interest in performing magic, which he did until the age of thirteen, performing on the streets, at restaurants, and birthday parties. During the summers, he attended Buck's Rock Performing Arts camp where he received his first formal training in theater, improvisation, and clowning.

McGorry was accepted into LaGuardia High School, the "Fame" school, as a drama major. He then attended the theater program at Emerson College, where he developed his passion for comedy as a member of the Emerson Comedy Workshop, a sketch comedy troupe with distinguished alumni such as Dennis Leary, Mario Cantone, Eddie Brill and David Cross. After graduating with a BA in Theater Studies with an Acting emphasis, McGorry moved back home to New York City. He immediately began classes at the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theatre and completed the curriculum by going through improv levels 101-401 and the advanced program. He has done over 140 improv shows with his team, Out of the Woods.

Formerly a personal trainer and fitness expert, McGorry has been featured in Men's Health, Men's Fitness, Muscle & Fitness, Life & Style, NY1, as well as other media outlets. Until March 2010, he was a competitive drug-free powerlifter and natural bodybuilder, holding state records and national rankings in three different weight classes.
