Matthew McLean is a swimmer competing at the 2012 London Summer Olympics for the USA.

Matt McLean qualified for London by finishing fifth in the 200m free at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha. He won the 200m free and 4x200m free relay at the 2011 World University Games, and won the 400m free at the 2011 U.S. Nationals and was second in the 200m free at that event, which came the week after the 2011 Worlds in Shanghai. McLean was the 2011 NCAA champion in the 500 yard freestyle while swimming for Virginia.

McLean's parents' names are Duncan and Anne, and his younger brother is Sam. After graduating from Virginia in 2011, McLean moved to Fullerton to train with coach Jon Urbanchek. Fellow U.S. swimmer Tyler Clary trains with Urbanchek as well.
