Mayte Garcia showcases her knowledge of dance as a judge on Oxygen's dance/weight loss competition series "Dance Your Ass Off." Mayte Garcia started ballet training when she was three years old and soon after started performing as a belly dancer across the U.S. Mayte Garcia appeared on the television program "That's Incredible" as the youngest professional belly dancer at the age of eight. Mayte Garcia moved with her family to Germany and continued her study of dance, where she had the opportunity to perform with the classical ballet company Wiesbaden Staatstheater. In 1990, Mayte Garcia caught the attention of music artist Prince and received her breakthrough role touring with Prince's "Diamonds and Pearls" album and appearing in his music video "Seven." Soon after, Mayte Garcia elevated her role and became the focus of his next album. Mayte Garcia's exceptional choreography skills span a variety of dance styles, including hip hop, salsa and freestyle, and she has captured the attention of music icons, including pop superstar Britney Spears. Mayte Garcia was hired by choreographer Wade Robson for the music video "Slave 4 U," and was responsible for teaching Britney Spears the belly dancing moves for the video and her memorable live performance at the MTV Video Music Awards. Mayte Garcia was also the director of the New Power Generation Dance Company and toured throughout the world, showcasing the choreographic works of several well-known choreographers as well as her own. As a dancer, Mayte Garcia appeared as a spokesmodel for Bed Head hair products and was the featured dancer in the Hindi Film "Dus." As an actress, Mayte Garcia continued to branch out into both film and television roles. Mayte Garcia's guest spots on television shows include "Las Vegas," "The Closer," "Nip/Tuck," "Big Shots," and "CSI: NY." Mayte Garcia co-starred in the Twentieth Century Fox film "Firehouse Dog" and guest starred in "Love Don't Cost a Thing." Mayte Garcia served as host for a variety of music shows including E!'s "The E! Mix" and "Across the Hall" for Time Warner's English-language Latino Network Si TV with Eric Cubiche.
