Michael Imperioli as Christopher Moltisanti The Sopranos Michael Imperioli Pictures Michael Imperioli stars as Detective Ray Carling on ABC's "Life on Mars." Michael Imperioli, acclaimed actor, writer and producer, has established a successful career in both television and film. He recently starred as Chick Benetto in "Oprah Winfrey Presents: Mitch Albom's For One More Day" on ABC. Michael Imperioli's role as Christopher Moltisanti on the acclaimed series "The Sopranos" earned him a Best Supporting Actor Emmy Award and a Golden Globe nomination. In addition to his role as a cast member, Michael Imperioli wrote five episodes of the show. Michael Imperioli also had a star turn on the right side of the law as a detective in the acclaimed series "Law & Order," and was the voice of Frankie in the DreamWorks Academy Award-nominated "Shark Tale." Michael Imperioli recently completed production on a feature film entitled "Hungry Ghosts," which he wrote and directed and is currently editing. Michael Imperioli has a starring role in Peter Jackson's upcoming movie, "The Lovely Bones," opposite Rachel Weiz and Mark Wahlberg, based on the bestselling book and slated for release in Fall 2009. Michael Imperioli first came to the public's attention in the role of "Spider" in Martin Scorcese's "Goodfellas." In his more than 30 film roles, Michael Imperioli has worked with acclaimed directors such as Spike Lee ("Jungle Fever," "Malcolm X," "clockers," "Girl 6," and "Summer of Sam"); the Hughes Brother's ("Dead Presidents"); Nancy Savoka ("Household Saints") and Gary Winnick ("Sweet Nothing," starring opposite Mira Sorvino). Other credits for Michael Imperioli include Campbell Scott's "Hamlet," Peter Mattei's "Love in th e Time of Money," and Miramax's comedy "My Baby's Daddy." As a writer, Michael Imperioli has done work for Dimension Films on "King Suckerman" and penned the screen adaptation of Mario Puzo's "Omerta" for Miramax. Michael Imperioli also wrote and executive produced "Summer of Sam." On the New York stage for over a decade, Michael Imperioli has produced, directed and acted. Some of Michael Imperioli's work includes critically acclaimed performances in "Aven' U Boys" directed by Frederick Zollo, "Displaced Persons" (opposite Martha Plimpton), "Half Deserted Street," Seth Zvi Rosenfield's "The Writing on the Wall," and "Little Blood Brother." In an ongoing commitment to New York City stage, Michael Imperioli and his wife Victoria Imperioli have launched Studio Dante, a 60- seat theater for new works and to serve New York's cultural life. The theater was built to inspire the next generation of our City's performance artists and audiences.
