Michael McKean stars in "Better Call Saul" on AMC as Dr. Thurber.

Michael McKean is an actor, comedian, writer, composer, musician and director. Some of his notable roles include heavy metal musician David St. Hubbins in the film classic "This Is Spinal Tap," Leonard "Lenny" Kosnowski on the hit TV series "Laverne and Shirley," and as a member of the "Saturday Night Live" troupe. He has appeared frequently in his "Spinal Tap" co-star Christopher Guest's movies, including "The Big Picture," "Best in Show," "For Your Consideration" and "A Mighty Wind." For the latter film, McKean co-wrote the songs "A Mighty Wind" (Grammy winner), and "A Kiss at the End of the Rainbow" with his wife actress Annette O'Toole, which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Song.

Among McKean's numerous film credits are "The Words," "Whatever Works," "The Producers," "Auto Focus," "The Guru," "Little Nicky," "Teaching Mrs. Tingle," "My Story," "Alaska," "True Crime," "The Brady Bunch," "Radioland Murders," "Memoirs of an Invisible Man," "Planes, Trains & Automobiles" and "Used Cars."  

McKean's TV appearances include "Family Tree," "Happy Endings," "Law & Order: SVU," "Homeland," "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Castle," "The Simpsons," "Law & Order," "Family Guy," "The X-Files," "Primetime Glick," "Smallville" and "Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman."

McKean's stage credits include "Hairspray," "The Pajama Gama," "The Homecoming" and more recently, "Superior Donuts." He also recently went on a 30-city U.S. concert tour, "Unwigged & Unplugged: An Evening with Christopher Guest, Michael McKean & Harry Shearer."
