Michael Patrick King is a director, writer and producer who most recently created CBS's comedy "2 Broke Girls" with Whitney Cummings.

King piloted the phenomenon "Sex and the City" through all six seasons on television and continued on as the writer, director and producer of both movies. He won two Emmy Awards and three Golden Globes Awards for his writing, directing and producing work on the series.

King also created the series "The Comeback" with Lisa Kudrow. He started his television writing career on CBS's "Murphy Brown" during their famous Dan Quayle year. His work on "Murphy Brown" garnered him his first Emmy Award nomination as well as the first of many Writer's Guild Award nominations.

Before writing for television, King was a playwright who had his plays produced in New York City, Los Angeles and at the Aspen Comedy Festival. Early in his career, he performed as a stand-up comedian, working in clubs from New York to Las Vegas.

Currently, King resides in Los Angeles.
