Michael Urie is a New York based actor whose theatrical credits have taken him from Dallas to Seattle, San Diego, Washington, DC, Austin and the Berkshires.  Michael Urie has worked Off and Off Off-Broadway, and in commercials and in independent film.

A recipient of the 2002 John Houseman Prize for excellence in classical theatre from the Julliard School, from which he holds an acting degree,  Michael Urie's classical credits include Shakespeare ("Othello," "Titus Andronicus" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream" for the Old Globe's Shakespeare festival, "Romeo and Juliet" for DC's Folger Theatre, "Love's Labor's Lost" for The Judith Shakespeare Company), Jacobean drama ("The Revenger's Tragedy" for The Red Bull Theatre and "The Roaring Girle" at The Foundry) and commedia del arte ("The King Stag" at Seattle Rep).  Michael Urie appeared in the world premiere of "Love and Happiness" at Barrington Stage in the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts. When he was cast as Marc in "Ugly Betty," Michael Urie was playing a bearded geologist and getting blown away by Mt. St. Helens every night Off-Broadway in "Phenomenon," at HERE performance space.

In the independent film world,  Michael Urie starred as Eric in "WTC View," which will premiere September 10th on LOGO. As a producer/co-director,  Michael Urie is currently in post production for "Two Down," his documentary short focusing on high school speech and debate tournaments.
