"Midnight in Paris" is a romantic comedy written and directed by Woody Allen that is the first of his many films that he intends to shoot and set exclusively in Paris, France. The film stars Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Kathy Bates and Marion Cotillard.

"Midnight in Paris" tells the story of a disillusioned screenwriter (Wilson) who dreams of living in Paris. While traveling there with his fiancée, one night he gets in a strange towncar and is transported back in time to the Paris of the 1920s, where he interacts with F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, Gertrude Stein, and other literary and artistic luminaries.

The film is about one man's love of a city, and the belief that so many of us have that to live in a different place and time would be far preferable to living in the present.
