Mila Hermanovski from "Project Runway All Stars" is one of the fashion designers competing on the Lifetime reality series. Her overly confident and opinionated personality took her to the final three in Season 7 of "Project Runway," when she chose to show a black and white collection inspired by shadows at Bryant Park.
Mila ("Project Runway 7") is both a costumer and TV/film and personal stylist who currently lives in Los Angeles, California, but is originally from Dallas, Texas.
At 15 years old, Mila Hermanovski made and sold stylish, skinny '80s neckties in madras plaid, metallics and pastel satins. She realized she really had potential to succeed as a designer while in college studying apparel design. She has a BFA in Apparel Design from Rhode Island School of Design and did an internship in UK for designer Val Piriou. She has worked as an assistant designer for Calvin Klein and an associate at a fashion trend-forecasting publication.
She considers a perfectly tailored black blazer, trench coat, cashmere cardigan and well-fitting jeans as fashion musts. She counts among her strengths her unique and consistent point of view, patterning and tailoring. Sometimes though she has so many ideas that she has a hard time editing and committing to one design. Her inspirations include modern art and architecture, graphic design, vintage design, pop/street culture, music. When she's designing, she likes listening to Goldfrapp, Fever Ray, Nightmares on Wax, Thievery Corporation and Bowie. Her favorite designers are Helmut Lang, Preen, Courreges, Balenciaga and Ralph Rucci.
