Molly Shannon stars as Kath Day opposite Selma Blair in NBC's comedy "Kath & Kim," based on the successful Australian show of the same name.

Molly Shannon can soon be heard lending her voice to Exodus Film Group's CG-animated feature "Igor," a comedy that brings a new twist to the classic monster genre, along with John Cusack, Steve Buscemi and John Cleese.

Molly Shannon could be seen recently in Lifetime's movie "More of Me," starring opposite Steven Weber. The film focuses on an overworked and overextended wife, mom and career woman who splits into three separate versions of herself with distinct personalities in order to manage her chaotic life.

Molly Shannon most recently received critical acclaim for her moving performance in Mike White's "Year of the Dog." The film focused on a secretary whose life is cracked by the sudden death of her beloved dog, Pencil. The life-changing event leads to new romantic possibilities as well as a new found passion for animal rights.

Molly Shannon also co-starred in "Evan Almighty," the feature-film sequel to the hilarious comedy "Bruce Almighty." Molly Shannon appeared in Keenen Ivory Wayans' film comedy "Little Man," as well as "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" (with Will Ferrell) and had a cameo in the box-office smash hit "Scary Movie 4." In addition, Molly Shannon was featured in two independent films in 2007: Sue Kramer's "Gray Matters" and Bruce Leddy's "Shut Up & Sing."

Among Molly Shannon's most memorable moments on film are her portrayal of Betty Lou Who in Ron Howard's worldwide blockbuster "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," and the title role in Paramount's hit comedy, "Superstar," where she portrayed everybody's favorite Catholic schoolgirl, Mary Katherine Gallagher, a character she created in her days on "Saturday Night Live." Molly Shannon's feature-film credits also include: "A Night at the Roxbury," a spinoff of the popular head-bopping, nightclubbing brothers on "Saturday Night Live," the Warner Bros. comedy "Analyze This," opposite Billy Crystal and Robert DeNiro; Todd Solondz' controversial "Happiness," and Fox 2000's "Never Been Kissed," opposite Drew Barrymore. Additional credits for Molly Shannon include: "The Good Boy," a CGI-animated live-action comedy; "My Boss's Daughter," Miramax' romantic comedy; "Serendipity," opposite John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale; "Osmosis Jones," the animated comedy co-starring Bill Murray; the independent feature film "Wet Hot American Summer," opposite Janeane Garofalo and David Hyde-Pierce. Molly Shannon also appeared in a cameo role opposite Tim Allen in Disney's "The Santa Clause 2."

On television, Molly Shannon was last seen opposite Christopher MacDonald and Jason Schwartzman in the off-beat comedy series "Cracking Up." Molly Shannon also starred in the USA Network movie, "12 Days of Christmas Eve" and appeared in the remake of the classic musical, "The Music Man," co-starring Matthew Broderick and Kristen Chenoweth. Molly Shannon's television series credits include multiple guest appearances on "Will & Grace" and "Sex and the City," among many others. Additionally, Molly Shannon spent six seasons as a member of the repertory company on "Saturday Night Live," primarily known for the eclectic characters she created, such as Mary Katherine Gallagher. Molly Shannon is also praised for her parodies of Courtney Love, Liza Minnelli, Monica Lewinsky, and Meredith Vieira.

Prior to joining "SNL," Molly Shannon appeared at the Up Front Comedy Theater in Los Angeles in "The Rob and Molly Show," an improvisational show which she co-wrote with Rob Muir.

Born in Shaker Heights, Ohio, Molly Shannon earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in drama from New York University's prestigious Tisch School of the Arts. Molly Shannon currently lives in Los Angeles and New York.
