Myq Kaplan from "America's Got Talent 2015" is one of the Top 36 acts in the NBC reality talent competition series. He previously was one of the comedians competing in Season 7 of the NBC reality competition series "Last Comic Standing" in 2010.

"America's Got Talent"

Myq Kaplan started out as a violinist at age four, but wasn't very good because he was four years old. In high school, he taught himself the guitar and loved it. He performed wherever someone would let him. One such place was a comedy club, where he fell in love with making people laugh by talking in between the songs. So he kept doing that talking and stopped carrying the guitar around. Myq credits his comedic success to the fact that it's more difficult to lug a guitar around than to not do that. At Boston University, he won BU's Funniest Student Contest, which means that out of 32,000 students, he was the funniest out of the 11 who signed up for the contest. Now he's on his way to prove he's the funniest guy in America! And maybe the world! And in space if they're watching too — hello, space aliens!

"Last Comic Standing"

Myq Kaplan (pronounced "Mike Kaplan") has appeared on "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien," the New Faces show of the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal, as well as Comedy Central's "Live at Gotham" and "Comedy Central Presents."

He was voted Best Local Comedian in the Boston Phoenix and won the NY's Funniest Stand-Up Competition (as part of the NY Comedy Festival) and March Comedy Madness at Caroline's in New York. Myq was a finalist in the Boston Comedy Festival and Comedy Central's Open Mic Fights. He was named Boston University's Funniest Student and featured at the inaugural Great American Comedy Festival.

A Jewy-ish vegan atheist who spells the name "Mike" weird, Myq enjoys words, social justice, Netflix, and comic books. He also likes non-comic books and ping-pong.
