Disney's 'StarStruck' Shines in Debut
The Disney Channel Original Movie pulled in 6.0 million total viewers for its broadcast premiere on Valentine's Day, doubling NBC's Olympic coverage in kids and tweens.

Disney Channel's 78th original movie, Disney's "StarStruck," featuring Brandon Smith ("Sonny With A Chance"), Chelsea Staub ("JONAS") and newcomer Danielle Campbell, sparkled in its debut, becoming the net's most-watched original movie to debut in February in Total Viewers (6.0 million), Kids 6-11 (2.4 million) and Tweens 9-14 (2.3 million).
The dominant No. 1 TV program in its time period in key kids, "StarStruck" doubled NBC's Olympic coverage in Kids 6-11 (2.4 million vs. 1.2 million) and almost doubled in Tweens 9-14 (2.3 million vs. 1.2 million).
With its first-ever Sunday DCOM premiere, "StarStruck" generated Disney Channel's highest numbers ever in the time period in Tweens 9-14 (2.3 million), and second-highest on record in Total Viewers (6.0 million) and Kids 6-11 (2.4 million), behind only 8/19/07 ("High School Musical 2," encore 2).
"StarStruck" towered over year-ago time period levels, increasing by 88% in Total Viewers (6.0 million vs. 3.2 million), by 60% in Kids 6-11 (2.4 million vs. 1.5 million) and by 64% in Tweens 9-14 (2.3 million vs. 1.4 million).
