Usher to Perform at 'MTV 2010 Video Music Awards'



Joining the R&B star will be Travie McCoy, Jason Derulo, and Robyn, who will all perform never before heard mixes of their current hit singles.

NEW YORK, NY — The list of VMA performers continues to grow as MTV confirms Usher for the "2010 MTV Video Music Awards." Riding the wave of success surrounding his hit album, "Raymond v. Raymond" and the release of his follow up album this week, Versus, Grammy Award winning artist Usher is sure to move the crowd and bare his soul on the stage at this year's show. Adding to the already impressive lineup, Paramore, nominated this year for "Best Rock Video," are also set to wow the VMA audience with a special performance. Additionally, Travie McCoy, Jason Derulo, and Robyn will perform never before heard mixes of their current hit singles with this year's VMA house artist, deadmau5. These artists join the previously announced list of VMA performers includes Eminem, Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Drake, B.o.B, and Florence + The Machine.

In addition, "The Social Network's" Justin Timberlake, Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield join already confirmed presenters Ke$ha, Nicki Minaj, Emma Stone, Penn Badgley, Trey Songz, Ashley Greene, Selena Gomez and Ne-Yo. As previously announced, comedienne Chelsea Handler will host the show. The "2010 MTV Video Music Awards" will air live from Nokia Theater L.A. Live in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 9PM (Live ET/Tape delayed PT.) MTV will announce additional performers and presenters on a later date.



"It is an honor to once again be a part of the MTV Video Music Awards. I can't wait to perform for my fans all around the world who have helped to make this album a success and my being here possible," said Usher. "You never know what's gonna happen on an MTV VMA stage...I look forward to making it a night to remember."

Viewers can vote for general VMA categories, including "Best New Artist," by going online beginning Tuesday, August 3. In addition, text voting for "Best New Artist" is open to all wireless carrier subscribers by texting BNA to 97979. Voting continues through the show, live on September 12. Also, Verizon Wireless subscribers can vote in all categories by texting VMA to 97979 (standard message rates apply.)
