Christina Aguilera to Perform at 'American Music Awards 2010'



Singing a number from her upcoming film "Burlesque," the Grammy award winning artist will join other previously announced performers including Bon Jovi, P!nk and Usher.

dick clark productions (dcp) president, Orly Adelson, announced that Christina Aguilera will perform at the 2010 "American Music Awards." Christina's performance will feature a live number from her upcoming film "Burlesque," which will be released by Screen Gems, a division of Sony Pictures, on November 25th. She will join other previously announced acts including Bon Jovi, P!nk and Usher. Additional performers and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks. The show will broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Sunday, November 21st (8:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT) on ABC.

AMA producer Larry Klein stated, "Christina is known for her powerful and engaging performances. We are looking forward to her 'Burlesque' number which will showcase moments from one of the most anticipated films of the season."



For the fourth year, winners will be determined by online voting. Artists will be honored in the categories of Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Alternative, Adult Contemporary, Latin, Soundtracks and Contemporary Inspirational.

dick clark productions will also air a live red carpet digital pre-show, "Coca-Cola Red Carpet Live!" @ The 2010 AMAs, on November 21st at 2:00 PM (PT) / 5:00 PM (ET). The pre-show features hosts Danny Gokey, Jennette McCurdy, Lance Bass, Whitney Port and the returning Coca-Cola Correspondent David Lehre.

Multi-platinum, 5 time Grammy award winning artist Christina Aguilera is one of the most successful recording artists of the decade. She has sold over 46 million albums worldwide and is the only artist under 30 to be named by Rolling Stone as one of the 100 greatest artists of all time.

The soundtrack to Burlesque will be released on November 22nd on RCA Records and features numerous original songs co-written and performed by Christina as well as production by Tricky Stewart and Linda Perry and songwriting by Claude Kelly, Tricky Stewart and Sia. Burlesque also includes remakes / covers of classic songs such as Etta James' "Something's Got A Hold On Me" and "Tough Lover" and Mae West's "A Guy What Takes His Time."
