LOS ANGELES, CA — FX has picked up a third season of its comedy series "The League," ordering 13 episodes, announced Nick Grad, Executive Vice President of Original Programming, FX Networks.

On a first-run basis, season two of "The League" averaged 1.4 million total viewers and 1.1 million Adults 18-49, up +4% and +5% vs. season one, respectively. On a multi-run total basis, season two delivered 2.5 million total viewers and 2.0 million adults 18-49.

"We're pleased to announce the third season pickup of 'The League,' and are fired up to continue our partnership with Jackie and Jeff Schaffer and the ensemble cast," said Grad. "We love the show, and the reaction the cast received across the country during their recent comedy tour is a sign the show is really building momentum."

Set against the backdrop of a fantasy football league, "The League" is about friendship, marriage, parenting, and growing up... or refusing to grow up. It was created by the husband-and-wife team of Jeff Schaffer ("Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Seinfeld") and Jackie Marcus Schaffer ("Disturbia," "EuroTrip") who serve as executive producers and directors. The ensemble cast features Mark Duplass, Stephen Rannazzisi, Nick Kroll, Paul Scheer, Katie Aselton and Jon Lajoie. The series is produced by FX Productions.

"We're thrilled to be doing a third season with our amazing cast and the most audacious network around," said the Schaffers. "FX truly is like the parents we wish we had growing up—every time we say something naughty they reward us."
