NEW YORK, NY — This summer, VH1 and Queen Latifah's Flavor Unit Entertainment bring viewers "Single Ladies," a new romantic comedy series that asks the question: What do women really want in a relationship? The series will mark VH1's first foray into the hour-long scripted series genre. "Single Ladies," the two-hour movie event, premieres Monday, May 30th at 9PM*, and the one-hour ten episode series kicks off a week later on Monday, June 6th at 9PM* on VH1.

"Single Ladies" is a new romantic comedy series about Val, Keisha, and April—three best friends with different philosophies on sex and relationships, proving not all women have the same desires. Val (Stacey Dash) is an ambitious, aspiring fashion mogul who believes in fate, romance and finding that special someone to be with forever. Keisha (LisaRaye McCoy) is a former video dancer who believes in making her own luck, her own money and choosing men with her head instead of her heart April (Charity Shea,) has found the "perfect" man for the "ideal" marriage—but is learning that marriage might not be her happily ever after. The series introduces Christina (Kassandra Clementi) a free-spirited, wild child intern with an eye for fashion that Val takes under her wing. "Single Ladies" is a modern, sexy series set in the world of Atlanta fashion, music, and celebrity that will constantly explore which woman has the right approach to relationships.

"We are thrilled here at VH1 to be delving into our first hour-long scripted series with "Single Ladies." This series taps directly into relationship and love issues and shows women with real strengths, vulnerabilities, and flaws that many of our audience can directly identify with. Also what better person to bring this gorgeous, funny, and diverse cast of talented and strong women to television than Oscar Nominated and Grammy Award winning actress/musician, Queen Latifah," stated Jeff Olde, EVP of Original Programming and Production, VH1.

"My partner Shakim Compere and I are excited our production company Flavor Unit is working with VH1 on their first venture into the hour-long scripted series genre. 'Single Ladies' is a sexy and smart show ...something that we feel TV has been missing for far too long and we knew VH1 was the perfect home for it," says Executive Producer, Queen Latifah.

The cast includes: Stacey Dash, LisaRaye McCoy, Charity Shea, Kassandra Clementi, DB Woodside, Anthony Montgomery, and Travis Winfrey. "Single Ladies" the movie features guest appearances by Lauren London, Eve, Common, Chili, and Kim Porter. Executive producer, Queen Latifah, will make a guest appearance in the series.

Executive producers include Queen Latifah, Shakim Compere, and Shelby Stone for Flavor Unit Entertainment. Executive producers also include Maggie Malina, Alex A. Motlagh for POPfilms, Stacy A. Littlejohn, and Tamra Davis. Executive producing for VH1 are Jill Holmes and Jeff Olde. "Single Ladies" was written and created by Stacy A. Littlejohn and directed by Tamra Davis.
