NEW YORK, NY — Get ready to say "smush" in Italian as Season Four of MTV's highest rated series-to-date, "Jersey Shore" kicks off with a 10-spot takeover beginning Thursday, July 28th with the "Jersey Shore: From the First Fist Pump" recap special that chronicles the show from its inception to its current status as a pop culture juggernaut. Airing at 10pm. ET/PT, the one-hour special will tell the story of "Jersey Shore" through footage from some of the series' most iconic and fan-favorite moments and new interviews with the cast in which they share their personal thoughts events that have captivated audiences for three season. Then on Thursday, August 4, the wait is over as the Season Four premiere airs at 10p.m. ET/PT. This summer will be hotter than ever when America's favorite roommates head overseas to learn all about the culture they love and bring their trademark hilarity, fist-pumping and family dysfunction to "the beautiful country." When the cast goes to Italy, they take a little of Jersey with them; and the birthplace of the Renaissance might never be the same. There's plenty of GTL, fist pumping and hair gel—but in Italy even going from "cabs are here" to "I taxi sono que" puts a hilarious spin on their everyday adventures. As they navigate Florence and rely on one another more than ever before, relationships will shift and evolve in directions fans could never see coming.

A true pop culture phenomenon, "Jersey Shore" is MTV's #1 series of all time. "Jersey Shore" Season Three averaged a 7.7 P12-34 rating, up 35% versus Season Two and up 196% from Season One. Since premiering on January 6, "Jersey Shore" is 2011's #1 series across all television with P12-34. Last year, "Jersey Shore" ranked #1 among all original cable series.

"Jersey Shore" is Executive Produced by SallyAnn Salsano from 495 Productions. Jacquelyn French is Executive Producer for MTV. Janay Dutton is Executive In Charge of Production for MTV. Concept created by Anthony Beltempo.
