NEW YORK, NY — Richard Dreyfuss, Ellen Burstyn, James Woods, Geena Davis, Lauren Ambrose ("Six Feet Under") and Steven Pasquale ("Rescue Me") are set to star in A&E Network's four-hour epic miniseries "Coma." The medical thriller from Ridley and Tony Scott and directed by Emmy winner Mikail Salomon ("Band of Brothers") is a modern day retelling of the best-selling novel by Robin Cook and film by Michael Crichton. The two-night event from Sony Pictures Television features a multiple Academy Award and Emmy Award winning cast and is currently in production in Atlanta. "Coma" is scheduled to premiere Memorial Day 2012.

"Coma" will also star James Rebhorn ("Law & Order," "White Collar"), Joe Morton ("The Good Wife") and Joseph Mazzello ("The Pacific," "The Social Network") with additional cast to be announced shortly. Mikael Salomon is directing the John J. McLaughlin (Black Swan) penned script, based on The New York Times bestseller by Robin Cook.

From the team behind A&E's Emmy-nominated miniseries "The Andromeda Strain," and the hit drama series "The Good Wife," "Coma" is a medical thriller about a doctor who discovers that something sinister is going on in her hospital after routine procedures send more than a few seemingly healthy patients into comas on the operating table.

"Coma" is produced by Sony Pictures Television for A&E Network. Executive producers are Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, David W. Zucker, Martin Erlichmann and Mikael Salomon. The script was written by John J. McLaughlin.
