LOS ANGELES, CA —TV Land announced today that legendary producers Sid and Marty Krofft will receive the Pop Culture Award at the "2009 TV Land Awards," and Will Ferrell, star of the upcoming film "Land of the Lost" ("Talladega Nights," "Anchorman"), Teri Hatcher ("Desperate Housewives"), Amy Poehler ("Saturday Night Live," "Parks and Recreation" and "Baby Mama"), comedian and talk show host Jimmy Kimmel ("Jimmy Kimmel Live"), Jamie Lee Curtis ("Freaky Friday," "A Fish Called Wanda") and TV talk show host and psychologist Dr. Phil will be among the presenters at the evening's celebration. Additionally, music stars Cyndi Lauper and David Cassidy will perform in the tribute to Sid and Marty Krofft. The two-hour show, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris ("How I Met Your Mother," "Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle" and "Assassins"), will tape on Sunday, April 19th at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City and will air on TV Land during a special presentation of TV Land PRIME on Sunday, April 26th at 8PM ET/PT.

TV Land previously announced additional honorees for this year's show including Don Rickles (Legend Award), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Legacy of Laughter Award), "Married With Children" (Innovator Award), "ER," (Icon Award), "M*A*S*H" (Impact Award), "Home Improvement" (Fan Favorite Award), "Magnum P.I." (Hero Award), "Two and a Half Men" (Future Classic Award) and "Knots Landing" (30th Anniversary Award).

Sid and Marty Krofft will be bestowed with the Pop Culture Award, which is presented to a producer whose body of work has crossed the line from ordinary to pop culture status.

After a background in puppeteering, vaudeville and the circus, Sid and Marty Krofft arrived in Hollywood to knock the cookie-cutter animation world of Saturday morning television upside down. Starting in 1969 with the innovative series "H.R. Pufnstuf," they turned out a string of wild, vibrant, fast-paced children's programs that captured the carefree spirit of the '70s while creating many pop culture moments. The Kroffts' idea of children's programming was always inventive and psychedelic— infused with manic energy and wild campy humor. They expanded their horizons to create a whole new style of variety shows for adults that were fearless and funny. One of their memorable series was "Land of the Lost" which has been remade as a feature film starring Will Ferrell as Park Ranger Rick Marshall.
