Seth MacFarlane's Emmy Award-winning animated comedy series "Family Guy" celebrates its upcoming 6th season and launch into national syndication with the Chicago premiere of the wildly popular live stage event "Family Guy Live!""Family Guy Live!""Family Guy Live!" features an uncensored live reading of a classic episode hand-picked by Seth MacFarlane with bonus material never broadcast on FOX. In addition, the evening includes live performances of some of the most memorable musical numbers from the series, as well as a Q&A with the cast and creators when fans will have the opportunity to find out everything they ever wanted to know about the show but never had the chance to ask. "Over the past few years, the cast has had a fantastic time performing classic episodes live on stage in Montreal, Los Angeles and New York. We hope the good people of Chicago will come out to see us as welland that they're not easily offended by jokes about pedophilia and sexually transmitted diseases," says "Family Guy" creator, executive producer and star Seth MacFarlane.
"Just For Laughs is thrilled to be working alongside 20th Century Fox Television in order to bring 'Family Guy' fans in Chicago this fantastic opportunity to see their favorite TV characters come to life," said Just For Laughs C.O.O. Bruce Hills. "We are working hard to make a name for ourselves in the U.S. and this is a great way for us to showcase what we do best...this unique event has already been a huge success for us, playing to capacity crowds in Montreal, Los Angeles and New York, and we have no doubt it will be met with the same enthusiasm in Chicago."
First conceived and presented at 2004's Just For Laughs the Montreal International Comedy Festival, "Family Guy Live!" was performed on stage in Los Angeles and New York in Spring 2005 in sold-out shows. This unprecedented event returned to Just For Laughs this summer and performed yet again in front of sold-out crowds and wildly enthusiastic audiences.
Since its debut in 1999, the Emmy-nominated animated series "Family Guy" has attracted an impressively loyal following of devoted fans and has sold over 5 million combined DVD units, making it the second-largest-selling TV series ever. A proven audience favorite and FOX Sunday-night staple, "Family Guy" is ranked No. 1 among Teens, Male Teens and Men 18-34.
The series continues to follow the twisted trials and tribulations of Peter Griffin (Seth MacFarlane) and his hilariously odd family of middle-class New Englanders. Lois (Alex Borstein) is Peter's loving wife, who struggles to maintain a modicum of normalcy in their home. Then there are their kids: dumpy, 16-year-old Meg (Mila Kunis), the family's punching-bag; 13-year-old CHRIS (Seth Green), a sweet-natured slacker; and 1-year-old Stewie (MacFarlane), a diabolically clever baby whose heterosexuality is hanging by a thread. Rounding out the Griffin household is Brian (MacFarlane), the family dog, who has a penchant for dry martinis and is almost finished with his novel. And then there are the adored characters Cleveland, Herbert, The Greased Up Deaf Guy, and other favorites (Mike Henry).
