Nicholas D'Aurizio from "Project Runway" is one of the designers competing in Season 8 of the Lifetime reality fashion design competition series. Nicholas ("Project Runway 8") is a handbag designer. He currently lives in New York, New York, but is originally from Hackensack, New Jersey. He is 31 years old.
The first garment Nicholas D'Aurizio ever made was when he and his boyfriend made a dress for his boyfriend's mother for his sister's wedding. Nicholas says he just always loved being creative
and working with his mind and hands as one. In high school, he won a few scholarships for drafting and design. He has a B.S. in architecture from Catholic University in D.C. and also took a few courses at the Fashion Institute. He has worked as a men's and women's accessories designer and an interior designer/architect.
When he's designing, he likes listening to "You Can't Hurry Love" by Phil Collins, "I Can Fly" by Rainey, and Michael Jackson. For him, T-shirts and Converse sneakers are fashion musts. Among his design influences, he counts the garments his grandfather made back in the 1930s and '40s, and old-fashioned menswear.
His favorite designers are Yeohlee, Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Dolce and Gabbana, and Prada.
