Nicholas Turturro stars in "Blue Bloods" on CBS in the recurring role of Sgt. Anthony Renzulli.
The whole Turturro clan and their extended family seem to have gotten into the show biz act at one time or another. Nick Turturro managed to find a job as both an extra and voice-over artist in Spike Lee's "Do the Right Thing" (1989). Spike took an immediate interest in the rough-edged Nick and wrote a featured role for him in his next film "Mo Better Blues" (1990) in which he and his brother John Turturro played repugnant Jewish brothers and co-owners of a club. Both the brothers went on to appear together again in Lee's "Jungle Fever" (1991) and Nick also appeared in Lee's "Malcom X" (1992).
Nick branched out on his own and garnered serious TV attention as rookie detective James Martinez on "NYPD Blue" (1993) for seven seasons. He has also appeared in "Burn Notice," "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "The King of Queens," "L.A. Law," "Twilight Zone" and "Third Watch,"
On the big screen, Turturro has starred in many of Adam Sandler's comedies such as "The Longest Yard" and "I Know Prounounce You Chuck and Larry." Most recently, Turturro was seen in "Zookeeper," starring Kevin James and Rosario Dawson.
