Nick Lachey is the host of "The Sing-Off," NBC's reality singing competition series that searches for the best a cappella groups in the nation. He is also the host of NBC's singing game show "The Winner Is" and was a contestant on NBC's reality competition series "Stars Earn Stripes."

In July 2011, Lachey hosted NBC's star-studded "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular," and he has co-hosted "Live with Kelly" alongside Kelly Ripa on several occasions throughout 2012.

Nick Lachey, a multi-platinum recording artist, actor and television personality, first rose to stardom as the front-man of the popular band 98 Degrees, selling 10 million albums worldwide and charting several top-forty hits.

Nick Lachey is a Kentucky native who grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. Though his original ambition was a career in sports medicine, his undeniable musical abilities led to acceptance at the Cincinnati (High) School for the Creative and Performing Arts. It was at Miami University in Ohio that he first auditioned for the vocal group that would sign with Motown records as 98 Degrees.

In 1997, "Invisible Man" became the first of a string of smash hits for 98 Degrees, assisting the group's self-titled debut album to gold status. Follow-up singles "Because of You" and "The Hardest Thing" both reached the top 5, while "I Do (Cherish You)" peaked at No. 13. Those songs propelled second album "98 Degrees and Rising" to quadruple-platinum status.

The group again reached the top 40 with its holiday anthem "This Gift" from platinum album "This Christmas" — and then hit the ultimate pay dirt. Invited to participate on Mariah Carey's "Thank God I Found You," 98 Degrees reached the coveted No. 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 and on the R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, and spent half a year on the single sales tally in 2000. The song was also nominated for a Grammy for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals.

Double-platinum "Revelation" that same year, marked a more edgy sound, with the tropical No. 2 single "Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche)" and rhythmic "The Way You Want Me To." In 2002, the group put its partnership on hiatus with the 13-track "Ninety-Eight Degrees: The Collection," leading the group to sell a total of 7 million albums.

Lachey went on to star in "Newlyweds," one of MTV's most successful shows in the network's history. In the midst of the fervor surrounding the reality show, Lachey released his first solo album, "SoulO" in late 2003, which included the romantic song "This I Swear" which was the theme song for his hit TV series.

Lachey released his second solo album, "What's Left of Me," in May of 2006. "What's Left of Me" debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. The title track by the same name stormed top 40 radio as one of the fastest-rising singles of Spring 2006.

In 2007 Lachey took home the championship in the NBC special, "Clash of the Choirs," in which he led a choir of 17 Cincinnatians to the title of America's Best Choir. He won a check for $250,000 for the Cincinnati Children's Hospital.

Lachey continues to be a presence both on and off the small screen, hosting "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular" on NBC in 2011 as well as starring on a variety of TV series, including "Hawaii Five-O," "Charmed," "One Tree Hill" and "Hope & Faith." In addition to his acting work, Lachey has hosted several major national network programs and specials such as "High School Musical: Get In the Picture." Behind the scenes, Lachey created and executive produced the hit MTV series "Taking the Stage" based on the lives of students at his beloved alma mater, the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, which ran for two seasons.

In addition to his success in the music and television industries, his love of sports motivated him to become an owner of the Tacoma Rainers, a Triple A minor league baseball team affiliated with the Seattle Mariners. Lachey also remains a constant advocate for children's and humanitarian causes through his work with organizations such as VH-1 Save The Music, Feeding America and the Make-a-Wish Foundation. He is also founder and president of The Nick Lachey Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to helping children, families and communities in need throughout the United States.
