Nigel Harman stars in "Downton Abbey" on PBS as Green.

British actor Nigel Harman has appeared on a number of well known UK television shows. Most famous for playing Dennis Rickman between 2003 and 2005 in "EastEnders," he subsequently appeared as Nathan Hyde in "The Outsiders" in 2006. 2007 saw him work on Channel 4's "Plus One" and "City of Vice," and on the BBC's "Lark Rise to Candelford." In 2008 he played Sam Franklyn in "Hotel Babylon," and in 2009 appeared on "Marple: The Mirror Crack'd from Side to Side."

Harman made his West End stage debut in 1997 at the Adelphi Theatre, playing Mickey in "Damn Yankees." In 1999 he took to Jermyn Street Theatre in "Signing Off," and played Eddie in Phyllida Lloyd's production of "Mamma Mia." 2000 saw him feature in "Pirates of Penzance," "Much Ado About Nothing" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream," all at the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre. In 2001 he played Roddey in "Three Sisters" at the Chichester Festival Theatre, Kevin Cartwright in Michael Grandage's "Privates on Parade" at the Donmar Warehouse, and Miss Shepherd's Doctor in "Lady in the Van" at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre. In 2006 Harman returned to London to play in "The Exonerated" at the Riverside Studios and to star as Sky Masterson in "Guys and Dolls" at the Piccadilly Theatre, again under Michael Grandage's direction.

In 2007, 2009 and 2012 Harman worked with director Jamie Lloyd to play Mick in "The Caretaker" at the Tricycle in London and Sheffield Crucible Theatre, Pip and Theo in "Three Days of Rain" and in "School for Scandal" at the Theatre Royal Bath. Harman also appeared in "Public Property" at the Trafalgar Studios in 2009, in "Celebration" at the Gate Theatre in 2010, as Lord Farquaard in "Shrek the Musical" in 2011, and more recently in 2012 played Guy Jones in Trevor Nunn's production of "A Chorus of Disapproval" in the West End.

Film work includes playing Ginge Thomas in the Warner Bros. film "Blood Diamond" in 2006, and Jess Contrad in "Telstar" in 2007.
