Officer Roly from "Bordertown: Laredo" stars in the A&E reality docu-series.

Officer Roly ("Bordertown: Laredo") is the least experienced officer, having only been with the Laredo Police Department since 2003. Despite his relative lack of experience, Roly has developed a keen sense of his surroundings since joining the Narcotics division in 2006. The greatest bust he had was running surveillance on two men who led them to a house filled with 350 lbs of cocaine inside. Here is an excerpt from an interview with him:

Does being a Narcotics Officer on the border make you more apprehensive about the job?

I always take extra care to make sure no one is following me, and pack my weapon when I get out. Always take stock of my surroundings.

Is there any case from the past that was the most memorable?

There's one case where everything just fell into place. We did all-day surveillance on this pair, an old man and a younger man. It was hard since we only had one trace car. We followed them to a house where we sat on the home for a bit more, then we just see them taking out all kinds of things like masking agents used to conceal the smell of narcotics and wrapping materials. We knew then that we were on to something. We continued to monitor them. One of the occupants got into a car, and patrol stopped the vehicle. The man runs out of the car fleeing custody. While patrol captured the fleeing man, we went back the house and surrounded it while we got a search warrant. Once we got the warrant, we entered the house and found over 350 lbs of cocaine. From a simple surveillance based on possibilities, we got this huge load.
