Oliver Ackland stars in "The Slap" on DirecTV's Audience Network as Rhys.

Oliver Ackland is a rising star of Australian film and television and in 2009 he was awarded the inaugural Heath Ledger Scholarship by Australians in Film. Oliver starred in Ben Lucas's "Wasted on the Young," which premiered at the 2010 Sydney Film Festival and screened at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival. His other feature film credits include Roger Scholes' "Cable" and John Hillcoat's highly-acclaimed film "The Proposition."

Oliver has also appeared in numerous short films including "50-50," directed by Megan Riakos, "Emergence," directed by Anthony Furlong, Damian Walshe-Howling's "The Bloody Sweet Hit," and "Eve," directed by Hannah Hilliard. His Australian television credits include roles in "All Saints," "Always Greener," "Young Lions" and Outriders." He also appeared in the TV movie "Emerald Falls" and co-starred in the miniseries "Jessica." Oliver also recently appeared as Toby Raven in the miniseries of Tim Winton's "Cloudstreet."
