In ABC's new one-hour show, "Opportunity Knocks," that chance is realized when one lucky family is brought together each week to play the game of a lifetime. The instant that host JD Roth knocks on a family's front door in "Anywhere, America," the mobile "Opportunity Knocks" team will be there in a semi-truck filled with prizes. They will literally set up shop on a family's front lawn. It's there that an audience made up of neighbors and friends will be cheering them on. On "Opportunity Knocks," Roth will ask the family trivia questions based directly on their lives, each other and articles found in and around their home. In order to win the prizes of their dreams on "Opportunity Knocks," they will have to prove they know each other inside and out. On "Opportunity Knocks," there will be interactive challenges for the family members, where the TV camera will be taken directly into the contestants' home. The clock will be ticking as they face a variety of tests, ranging from a husband guessing how many dresses are in his wife's closet to seeing if a daughter can identify a relative on a portrait by her bedroom. From the stage that's set up in the family's front yard on "Opportunity Knocks," there will be different types of challenges—such as the kids tasting and identifying which spaghetti sauce is Mom's secret recipe, whether Dad can guess which pottery piece was made by his daughter, or asking Mom to choose which of the five girls on the stage gave her son his first kiss. When the families in "Opportunity Knocks" come together for their weekly game night, anything can happen as they move toward their prize-winning goal. Whatever the outcome, the biggest reward will be the experience they share as a family, the opportunity to bring a neighborhood together and the bonds that will be strengthened.
