"Outlaw" (NBC TV show), starring Emmy Award-winner Jimmy Smits ("NYPD Blue," "West Wing"), is a new drama from executive producer John Eisendrath ("Alias," "Felicity," "Playmakers").

Cyrus Garza (Smits) is a Supreme Court justice who abruptly quits the high-level position. A playboy and a gambler, Garza had always adhered to a strict interpretation of the law until he realized the system he believed in was flawed. Now that he's quit the bench and returned to private practice, he's determined to

represent "the little guy" and use his inside knowledge of the justice system to take on today's biggest legal cases. And he's making plenty of powerful people unhappy along the way.

The "Outlaw" cast also includes Garza's best friend since childhood, Al Druzinsky (David Ramsey), a brilliant defense attorney with liberal beliefs; Mereta Stockman (Ellen Woglom), a hopeless romantic who is Garza's loyal law clerk; Lucinda Pearl (Carly Pope), a wildly unorthodox private investigator who uses her sex appeal and wit to gather information for Garza, and Eddie Franks (Jesse Bradford), a tightly wound, rabidly ambitious Yale-educated attorney, recently hired as Garza's law clerk.

"Outlaw" is a Universal Media Studios production along with Conaco productions. Eisendrath is executive producer along with Terry George ("Hotel Rwanda," "Reservation Road"), Conan O'Brien, Jeff Ross and David Kissinger ("Andy Barker, P.I."). "Outlaw" is written by Eisendrath and directed by George.

I did enjoy the pilot episode but was turned off to the program with your second. You completely mischaracterized the AZ Immigration Law and I find that to be inexcusable. The law clearly states that a police officer can only ask about immigration status if the person has been stopped for some legal violation. Yes, I know the show is fiction but, you can at least base the epsiodes on facts. Based on the AZ law as written, the outcome of the case most likely would have been different. I don't think I will be watching the show again.

Love the show and especially glad to see Jimmy Smits back.Pitting a new show against an established favorite is bound to cause lower ratings. Don't cancel, find another time slot so the show can stay on.
west says:
The Carly Pope character is a total turnoff for me. She seems arrogant sarcastic and her nastiness ruins the show for me. Tone her down a bit if you want this show to continue. This character is making the whole show look bad.

Who played the prosecuting attorney in week 5 where the senators daughter was arrested for the murder of a cop. I know him from somewhere
