Paul Adelstein stars as Cooper on ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" spin-off "Private Practice." Paul Adelstein also appears as Kellerman on FOX's "Prison Break."

Adelstein began his professional acting career at 20 when he joined John Cusack's commedia dell'arte troupe, New Crime Productions, in his native Chicago. After appearing in commedia versions of "MaratlSade," "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" and "The Balcony," among others, Adelstein began working with the renowned Steppenwolf Theatre Company, where he appeared in numerous productions, including "A Clockwork Orange," directed by Terry Kinney; "Horning Star," directed by Frank Galati; and "A Soldier's Tale," a co-production of Steppenwolf Theatre and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, featuring Pinchas Zuckerman.

Adelstein's film credits include "The Grifters," "My Best Friend's Wedding" and "Bedazzled."

Adelstein's television work includes recurring roles on "Cupid," "Turks and Hack" (opposite David Morse), as well as a leading role on the Bravo series "Breaking News."

In addition to his acting career, Adelstein is the songwriter/singer in the Los Angeles-based band Doris, as well as recording and touring with David Singer and the Sweet Science and the Poncey Lads.
