Alec Baldwin plays network executive Jack Donaghy on NBC's "30 Rock," a workplace comedy where the workplace exists behind-the-scenes of a live variety show. The show is told through the comedic voice of Emmy Award winner Tina Fey ("Liz Lemon") and features Baldwin as the brash new network executive who has turned the show upside down with his meddling ways.
The 2007 winner of the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a TV Musical or Comedy and heralded by Entertainment Weekly as a "comic genius," Alec Baldwin is one of Hollywood's most charismatic and prolific actors—both on stage and in film. Alec Baldwin also recently earned a Screen Actors Guild nomination for his hilarious turn on "30 Rock" and garnered raves for his performance in Martin Scorsese's "The Departed" and a 2004 Academy Award nomination for his role in "The Cooler" opposite William H. Macy. In addition to his many dramatic credits, Alec Baldwin has proven to be an adept and perennial host of "Saturday Night Live" (with 13 hosting appearances to his credit) and was lauded as the "funniest person on TV" in 2006 by the Chicago Sun-Times. Alec Baldwin's production company, El Dorado Pictures, has co-produced the Emmy-nominated miniseries "Nuremberg" and the feature film "State and Main."
Among his many stage credits, Alec Baldwin won acclaim and a Tony nomination for his work opposite Jessica Lange in "A Streetcar Named Desire" which also garnered him an Emmy nomination for the television adaptation.
