Amy Brenneman stars as Violet on ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" spin-off, "Private Practice."
Amy Brenneman received three Emmy Award nominations, three Golden Globe nominations and one Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Best Actress for her starring role in CBS's "Judging Amy." Amy Brenneman also won two TV Guide Awards for the role. "Judging Amy" is based on the real-life experiences of Amy Brenneman's mother, a State of Connecticut Superior Court judge.
Amy Brenneman first became known to television audiences for her portrayal of Officer Janice Licalsi in the series "NYPD Blue," for which she received two Emmy Award nominations. Amy Brenneman's other television credits include the series "Middle Ages," on CBS, and the movie "ATF."
