Dominic Monaghan is best known for his portrayal of Hobbit Meriadoc "Merry" Brandybuck in the "Lord of the Rings" Trilogy. This fall, Dominic Monaghan will be heard as the narrator of Sony Screen Gems' feature film "RINGERS: Lord of the Fans," a documentary that charts the ongoing influence of J.R.R. Tolkien's literary masterpieces.
Dominic Monaghan can also be seen in the upcoming dark psychological drama, "Shooting Livien," starring Jason Behr ("Roswell"), Sarah Wynter ("24") and Joshua Leonard ("The Blair Witch Project"), and in "Spivs," a heist film, opposite Nick Moran of "Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" fame.
Dominic Monaghan was born in Berlin and grew up in Manchester, England. He is an active environmentalist and enjoys the outdoors, wild animals and football (soccer in the U.S.), particularly Manchester United. An avid surfer, Dominic Monaghan has been lucky enough to spend his downtime on the waves of New Zealand and Hawaii while filming "Lord of the Rings" and "Lost," respectively.
Dominic Monaghan currently resides in Los Angeles.
