Gaius Charles stars as phenomenal running back, Brian "Smash" Williams, in the NBC television drama "Friday Night Lights."
A recent graduate of Carnegie Mellon, Gaius Charles received his B.F.A. in drama, graduating magna cum laude. At Carnegie Mellon, Gaius Charles performed in productions such as: "Spunk," the first all-black production in the conservatory's 100-year history; "Candide;" and "The Wild Party." Gaius Charles also appeared in the Princeton Shakespeare Festival productions of "Romeo and Juliet," as Mercutio, and "A Comedy of Errors." Gaius Charles' additional stage performances include "The Clink" with the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) in Sydney, Australia. Gaius Charles also wrote, performed and produced his one-man show, "Meet Me in Iraq." In television, Charles guest starred in NBC's drama series "Book of Daniel."
Gaius Charles has a passion for aviation and hopes to one day become a private pilot. Gaius Charles is also an aspiring screenwriter, presently working on independent projects to bring to the big screen.
Gaius Charles currently resides in Teaneck, New Jersey. His birthday is May 2.
