Hill Harper stars as Dr. Sheldon Hawkes in CBS's "CSI: NY."
Hill Harper starred in "The Handler," on CBS, for which he received a 2004 Golden Satellite Award nomination as Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. Hill Harper's role in the series "City of Angels," also on CBS, brought him an NAACP Image Award nomination as Best Supporting Actor. Hill Harper's additional television credits include "The Court," "Live Shot," "Lackawanna Blues" and the mini-series "Mama Flora's Family," on the Network.Hill Harper has made guest appearances in "The Sopranos," "Soul Food," "The New Twilight Zone," "ER," "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," "Married...with Children," "NYPD Blue" and, on CBS, "Cosby."
Hill Harper's feature film credits include "Love, Sex and Eating the Bones," "America Brown," "The Badge," "Loving Jezebel," "The Nephew," "The Skulls," "In Too Deep," "Beloved," "Hav Plenty," "He Got Game," "Get on the Bus," "Zooman," "Full Court Press" and "One Red Rose," which he also co-wrote. Hill Harper's role in the film "The Visit" earned him a nomination for an Independent Spirit Award. Hill Harper's upcoming projects include the independent films "Premium" and "The Breed."
Hill Harper's theater credits include "Dogeaters" and Off Broadway productions of "Blue," "Your Handsome Captain," "Freeman" and David Mamet's "American Buffalo." Hill Harper is a full-time member of the Black Folk's Theater Company of Boston, one of the nation's oldest and most respected African American traveling theater troupes.
Hill Harper released his own book, Letters to a Young Brother. The book provides inspirational lessons and guidance for today's youth.
Hill Harper graduated magna cum laude and valedictorian from Brown University and has two graduate degrees from Harvard University, a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a master's in public administration from the Kennedy School of Government.
Originally from Iowa City, Iowa, Hill Harper lives in Los Angeles.
