's look from the beginning of his diverse design career. This Palos Verdes, California native set-out to combine his love of shopping, knowledge of design and entrepreneurial skills to open two high-profile home design stores just south of Los Angeles.

combined vintage treasures found at flea markets all over the world, new accessories and gift ware. Maison Luxe, one of the stores opened by Michael and located in Manhattan Beach, California, sells unique and plush home furnishings to customers like Goldie Hawn, Candace Bergin and Rachel Hunter.

His eclectic, fresh approach to decorating took off and soon

became synonymous with spectacular interior design, working with celebrities such as Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell, Ryan Seacrest, among other projects with Walt Disney Co. & the NFL.

's television credits include, "Good Morning America," "The View," "EXTRA!", "Greg Behrendt," "The Wayne Brady Show," "Entertainment Tonight," "Designers' Challenge," "Less Than Perfect," "Access Hollywood" and more. You can still catch him on episodes of "Clean House" on the Style Network.

enjoys spending time in his Los Angeles home with his precious pooch, 'Rique the Design Dog' – his adorable Jack Russle-Chiauaaua mix who has developed quite a knack for design himself. Michael also enjoys entertaining family and friends at his second home in Palm Springs California, an architectural landmark decorated with his personal touches – this beautiful home has been featured in People, OK and In Touch Magazines.

Just as Rique the Design Dog is near and dear to his heart, so are the many charities he lends his time and talent to. Last year,

hosted the annual "Paws for Style" event that showcases dogs dressed in outfits from famous fashions icons to raise money for the Animal Medical Centers in California and New York.
