Peter MacNicol stars as Dr. Larry Fleinhardt in CBS's "Numb3rs."
Peter MacNicol made his stage debut in Beth Henley's Pulitzer Prize-winning play "Crimes of the Heart" and was honored with the Theatre World Award for his performance. Peter MacNicol continued his classical theater training, which began at the famed Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis, and starred in several productions at Joseph Papp's prestigious New York Shakespeare Festival, including the title roles in "Richard II" and "Romeo and Juliet."
Peter MacNicol made his feature debut in "Dragonslayer," followed by "Sophie's Choice," "Ghostbusters II," "Addams Family Values," "Housesitter," "Dracula: Dead and Loving It" and "Bean." Peter MacNicol recently appeared alongside Jamie Foxx in "Breakin' All the Rules."
Most widely recognized as John Cage from "Ally McBeal," Peter MacNicol won his first Emmy Award in 2001 for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, after being nominated the previous two years. Peter MacNicol starred in the CBS series "Chicago Hope," "The Powers That Be" and "Faerie Tale Theatre." Peter MacNicol 's television movie credits include "The Ponder Heart," "Silencing Mary" and "Johnny Bull."
With a degree from New York University's intensive filmmakers' program, Peter MacNicol directed episodes of "Boston Public" and "Ally McBeal." Peter MacNicol is currently adapting Dennis Covington's acclaimed novel Salvation on Sand Mountain as a screenplay, which he will direct.
Peter MacNicol appeared in a recurring role as Thomas Lennox in the FOX series "24" concurrently with season three of "Numb3rs."
Raised in Dallas, Texas, Peter MacNicol lives in Los Angeles.
