Phyllis Ellis previously starred on the Canadian comedy series "Three Chords of Death," about the cutthroat, youth-oriented music business, and had a recurring role in the "The Wilkinsons," a comedy that follows the lives of country music stars. She won the Gemini Award in 2006 for Best Individual Performance in a Comedy Program or Series for the latter role. She also directed numerous episodes of the latter series, as well as the TV documentary "Crystal: Living the Dream." She was nominated for a Gemini Award in 2004 for Best Direction in a Lifestyle/Practical Information Program or Series for "Made to Order."
